A Bit About Me

I’m Kateryna Vinytska — vocalist, conductor, vocal coach, producer, and the slightly chaotic ADHD-powered brain behind Singing Birds Voice Studio and all our projects:

Rotterdam International Pop Choir,

Energy Pop Choir, our

Children’s Cheer Choir, and the

Ukrainian powerhouse Svitlo.

These aren’t just choirs where I “teach people to sing.” They are communities where people feel safe, held, emotional, loud, soft, messy, human — and absolutely allowed to be all of that.

I’m a late-diagnosed ADHD adult who spent most of her childhood thinking something was “wrong” with me. Growing up in post-Soviet Ukraine wasn’t particularly supportive of kids who fidget, sing nonstop, vibrate with energy, or ask “why” every 30 seconds. “Don’t stand out,” “Don’t sing so loud,” “Stop moving your legs,” “Why are you holding things in your hands,” — yes, that was the soundtrack of my childhood.
I sang through every lesson anyway. Teachers complained at first, and eventually got so used to me that when I was absent they said, “Oh… the radio is off today.”

I studied vocal pedagogy, conducting, folklore, pop singing, and later music production & sound engineering at SAE (Essex University). I worked as a DJ. I performed, performed, performed — until life brought me to the Netherlands, where Singing Birds was born.

And then I realised something simple but life-changing:
I AM DIFFERENT!
My brain works differently — and that is not a problem, it is my superpower.

Because the way my ADHD brain scans people physically and emotionally is the foundation of my teaching. Years of studying techniques, analysing bodies, voices, responses, and my own chaos turned into a method:
Body–Mind–Voice — a system where technique becomes real only when the body feels it, the mind understands it, and the voice connects the two.

I’ve used this method in hundreds of lessons with neurodivergent singers, anxious singers, burnt-out teachers, sports coaches who shout for a living, trans people finding their vocal identity, and performers preparing for tours and TV shows.
The biggest compliment I hear again and again is:
“I don’t want to leave your school. It feels safe here.”

This website exists because neurodivergent singers — and neurodivergent teachers — deserve tools that actually fit the way their brains work. There is shockingly little material for us. So I’m filling the gap and offering laser-sharp, body-based, brain-friendly tools that help people find their voice without breaking it, losing it, or hating it.

If you’re ready to learn, to feel, to experiment, to laugh, to cry a little (it happens), and to build a voice that belongs to you - welcome.

Join the course, or come to a lesson at Singing Birds.

We’ll go there together.
